Wordless Wednesday

Emergency numbers in Norway are 110 for fire, 112 for police and 113 for ambulance.

Do you know, are your telephone lines mostly buried, in Norway, or do you have telephone poles with overhead lines? Or a mix?

I worked for the phone company here, and I'm curious about something.

Zuzana, they are talking about merging all into one number. We'll see if it ever happens. :-)

Roy, the spaghetti crossing between buildings that one often sees in other countries is unknown in Norway. In built-up areas, all cables are buried.

So they're going to combine them? Convienient for people, I suppose.

What's 111?

Hey, stranger, nice to see you! 111 isn't used because leaning on a button (as it were) could lead to accidentally dialing an emergency service. (Same principle behind 911.)
