It reminds me that you don't have to have a point to have a point (Harry Nilsson's "The Point").

Alice and Jono, I had no idea what you guys were talking about and went a-hunting. Now I'm listening to Nilsson's charming story and songs. Thanks!

Paula, thanks! I got lucky. :-)

When I saw this picture I immediately thought of Harry Nillson and "The Point". I was quite surprised to see that Jono had beaten me to it - you don't hear much of either Nillson or "The Point" these days. The quote I thought of though was "A point in every direction is the same as no point at all". I loved this album and listened to it constantly when I first got it. I still have the album and a turntable, but alas they are both in storage so I haven't listened to it in years.

Keera - this is a delightful album and well worth seeking it out to listen to the entire thing. I love "Me and My Arrow."

Ellen, I listened to the whole album last night (I love streaming!). What a charming story with good songs! "Me and My Arrow" stood out for me, too.

I was trying to tell a co-worker today about my delightful find, only to discover that "The Point" is an untranslatable pun. Where one word makes do in English, three are needed in Norwegian. I found myself unable to make my point.
