Thinning the trees

Some folks with chainsaws have been hard at work today, thinning the woods on the little hill behind my building.

Really thinning them.

It remains to be seen if what is left will fill in so much as the leaves come in that I won't notice the missing trees. I rather like the illusion of woods rather than buildings.

PS: I thought about going for heaps of Google hits by calling this post "Going naked in my backyard", but decided to alliterate instead. I still may get some hits.

:-p I never like seeing trees cut down. I know sometimes it's for the best, even from nature's point of view, but still...

I totally don't like cut down trees :(

I hear you two. I find tree-cutting a bit upsetting, and am trying not to.

They thinned the trees around the pond where I take my walks and for a while it seemed horrible. Then I realized I could see the pond better again, and the trees that were left had room to spread their branches.

Maybe people have a need to "manage" the stuff of nature. They just can't help it.And, yes, "naked in the backyard" would get you some traffic. Sure you want it?

Welcome, Jon! I think that traffic-increasing idea is already working. It brought you in, right? :-)
