Can'ttalknowhavetogetready

The day has arrived! Tonight, in less than two hours, I will be standing with co-workers, holding a glass of champagne, and all because I've managed to stay with the same company for 25 years.

I can't believe I actually did that.

25 years.

Wow...

UPDATE: Drunk as a skunk. But not the drunkest there. In a taxi home, with the last to leave. We danced. Everybody who was there said they had a wonderful time. As the guest of honor and sort of their hostess, that pleased me no end. More later. I'm one of the drunk ones. You have no idea how many times I hit backspace just to type this...

That was posted at 2:14 am. I'm just saying...

WELL DONE! Congrats!

I remember when my Mom got to 25 years. She got a little plaque. Hopefully, you'll do better.

Thanks, all! It took me until dessert last night to realize the whole party was for me, about me, due to me - and my 25 years. Amazing!

I am now nursing a hangover.

It was worth it. :-)

Awesome. :-)

My aunt has worked for more than 25 years for the government. They didn't throw such a good party for her, but she has a plaque to hang on her wall.

Brava! High fives all around! Congrats!

I'm so glad that your party went well. That's the icing on the cake. :) :) :)

No plaque. That's not the custom here.

Such parties are also not necessarily the custom in all companies. My employer happens to be quite large and equipped with its own kitchen, banquet rooms and chefs.
